Under leading copyright doctrines worldwide, purely AI-generated text lacking human creative selection or arrangement does not automatically receive exclusive copyright protection. However, where human authors invest genuine creative intelligence—conceiving unique characters, world lore, plot branch selection, and post-generation revisions—those elements are legally protectable.
[TaleMeld Rights Principle]: To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaleMeld assigns to the user all rights it holds in the output. Users maintain full exploitation rights over their novel manuscripts.
2. Creative Contribution Record (Evidentiary Provenance)
To support users during copyright registration or literary publishing, TaleMeld generates an immutable Creative Contribution Record for every story. This report documents: (1) user-architected protagonists and moral flaws; (2) custom world rules and power dynamics; (3) user-directed plot dilemmas; (4) human paragraph revisions; and (5) transparent AI model versioning.
3. Taste Features Pipeline: Inspiration without Infringement
When selecting reference books in the story wizard, TaleMeld enforces a strict Taste Features Pipeline:
- Anchor Book → Distill abstract craftsmanship (tropes, tone, pacing) → Strip all proprietary book titles and characters → Drive original generation;
- We strictly forbid verbatim copying or direct sequels of third-party IP;
- Guaranteeing that every novel maintains an authentic, non-infringing creative foundation.
